THE WORLD
THE WHOLE HOUSE OF ISRAEL
John 1:10  He was in the world [masculine gender], and the world [masculine] was made [ginomia, aorist indicative, caused to be] by him, and the world [masculine] knew [ginwskw, aorist indicative, under-stood] him not.
WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR WORDS
THAT ARE IN AGREEMENT IN GENDER
THE WORLD AND THE EARTH ARE NOT THE SAME
Acts 7:49  Heaven is my throne, and earth [feminine] is my footstool:
1 Corinthians 10:26  For the earth [feminine] is the Lord's,
Matthew 24:35  Heaven and earth [feminine] shall pass away,
The word “world” is masculine
Feminine
Be aware that we will be looking at the number and gender of words in the following verse.
In John 1:10 we can see that is says that Jesus was in the world. Is the word “world” a reference to being in the earth or a people group? I believe the world is a reference to a people group, the nation of Israel, rather than all of the people groups on the earth.
In Acts 1:8  But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. We see that the ministry of his disciples moved from the world to the uttermost part of the earth. He is telling them that they will be leaving the nation of Israel and going to other nations. They would begin in Jerusalem and move out  through Judaea, and Samaria then to the uttermost part of the earth.
While Jesus was in the world, the nation of Israel, he spake openly to the Jews that congregated in the temple, synagogues and in their homes and not Gentiles
