Text: 1 Thessalonians 2:1-10
1 Th 2:1-4 For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain:
1 Th 1:5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; &ldots;
2. But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention.
Acts 17:1-4 Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews:
Acts 17:2. And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,
Acts 17:3. Opening and alleging (giving evidence), that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.
Acts 17:4. And some of them believed, and consorted (joined) with Paul and Silas; and of the devout (God-fearing) Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few.
Acts 14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
3. For our exhortation was not of deceit [error], nor of uncleanness [impuritiy], nor in guile [deceit]:
Acts 17:5 But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.
4. But as we were allowed [approved] of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.
1 Cor 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2. By which also ye are saved [present, passive, indicative], if ye keep [present active, hold fast] in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures (for the common salvation Jude 3); 4. And that he was buried (proof He died), and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures (for so great salvation Heb 2.3):
2 Tim 2:8-12 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel: 9. Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound. 10. Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal [agelasting] glory. 11. It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: 12. If we suffer [endure], we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
Acts 4:2 Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
Acts 4:33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
Phil 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
Gal 1:10-12 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. 11. But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. 12. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
1 Tim 1:11 According to the glorious gospel [the gospel of the glory] of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.
2 Cor 4:3-4 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost [apollumi, perishing, present middle participle]: 4. In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not [apistov, faithless], lest the light of the glorious gospel [the gospel of the glory] of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation (kingdom) to every one that believeth [present active participle]; to the Jew first (kingdom), and also to the Greek.
1 Th 1:5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
2 Th 2:14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Rom 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
Rom 16:26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations (Jew and Gentile) for [eis, leading to] the obedience of faith:
