Text: 2 Corinthians 6:17-18 "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty."
Galatians 4:5-7 "To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. 6. And because ye are [present active] sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. 7. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ."
Galatians 1:10 "&ldots;for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ."
Luke 6:35 "But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be [future middle] the children [sons] of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil."
Galatians 3:26 "For ye are [present active] all the children [sons] of God by faith in Christ Jesus."
1 Timothy 1:19 "Concerning faith have made shipwreck:"
1 Timothy 4:1 "&ldots; in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits,&ldots;"
Hebrews 12:7 "If ye
endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for
what son is he whom the (a) father chasteneth not?"
Matthew 22:30 "For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven."
Luke 20:35-36 "But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world [age], and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: 36. Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children [sons] of God, being the children [sons] of the resurrection."
Romans 8:1-15 "There is therefore now no condemnation [sentencing] to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."
2 "For the law of the Spirit of life [of adoption v.15] in Christ Jesus hath made me free [from bondage] from the law of [the] sin [lawlessness] and [the] death [qanatov death of the soul]."
3 "For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned [sentencing] [the] sin [lawlessness] in the flesh:"
4 "That the righteousness of the law might be
fulfilled in us, who walk [present active participle]
not after the flesh, but after [according to] the
Spirit [of adoption]."
5 "For they that are [present active participle] after the flesh do mind [present active] the things of the flesh; but they that are after [according to] the Spirit [of adoption] the things of the Spirit [of adoption]."
6 "For to be carnally [flesh] minded is death [qanatov loss the life or soul death]; but to be spiritually (spirit of adoption) minded is life (in the kingdom of heaven) and peace."
7 "Because the carnal mind is enmity [opposition] against God: for it is not subject [present passive] to the law of God, neither indeed can be [present passive]."
8 "So then they that are in the flesh cannot please [present passive, by faith we please] God."
9 "But ye are [present active] not in the
flesh, but in the Spirit (of adoption, v.15),
if so be [since indeed] that the Spirit (of
adoption, v.15) of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit
of Christ (of adoption, v.15), he is none of his."
10 "And if Christ be
in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit
is life because of righteousness."
Colossians 1:27 "&ldots;Christ in you, the hope of glory:"
11 "But if the Spirit (of adoption, v.14,15) of him (God) that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you (beloved of God, called to be saints; 1:7), he (God) that raised up Christ (and gave him glory; 1 Pet 1:21) from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his [the] Spirit that dwelleth in you."
12 "Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh."
13 "For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if
ye through the Spirit (of adoption, v.15) do
mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live."
14 "For as many as are led [present passive]
by the Spirit (of adoption, v.15) of God, they are [present
active] the sons of God."
15 "For ye have not received the spirit
of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of
adoption [to place as a son], whereby we cry, Abba, Father."
Romans 8:22-23 "For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. 23. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit (of adoption), even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption [to place as a son], to wit, the redemption of our body."
Revelation 21:7 "He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son."
2 Corinthians 7:1 "Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God."
1 John 1:7 "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."
1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
