Text: 1 John 1:4 "And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full."
JOY MIGHT BE FULL
John 15:11 "These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full."
John 15:3 "Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you."
John 15:5 "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."
John 15:8 "Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples."
John 15:10 "If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love."
JOY MAY BE FULL
John 16:24 "Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full."
John 16:23 "And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you."
John 14:13 "And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son."
JOY MAY BE FULL
2 John 1:12 "Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full."
FULL REWARD
2 John 1:8 "Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward."
DOCTRINE
2 John 1:9 "Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath [esteemeth] both the Father and the Son."
FOR THE JOY BEFORE HIM
Hebrews 12:2 "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith [the means to please Him]; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."
HE OVERCAME
Revelation 3:21 "To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne."
FAITH TO BE OVERCOMERS
1 John 5:4-5 "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh [present active participle] the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 5. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth [present active participle] that Jesus is the Son of God?"
THE JOY OF THE LORD IS TO REIGN
Matthew 25:23 "His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord."
FAITHFUL IN VERY LITTLE
Luke 19:15-17 "And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.
16. Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. 17. And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities."
LOSS OF JOY
Matthew 25:25-26 "And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. 26. His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strowed:"
OUTER DARKNESS
Matthew 25:30 "And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
UNPROFITABLE SERVANT
Luke 17:10 "So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do."
EXAMPLE OF ISRAEL
Ezekiel 36:24 "For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land."
FORGIVEN AND CLEAN
Ezekiel 36:25 "Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you."
NEW HEART AND SPIRIT
Ezekiel 36:26 "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh."
YET REMEMBERING
Ezekiel 36:31 "Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations."
MEMORY LOSS
Revelation 21:4 "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."
AFTER A NEW HEAVEN AND EARTH
Revelation 21:1 "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea."
WELLPLEASING
2 Corinthians 5:9 "Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted [wellpleasing] of him."
WHY?
2 Corinthians 5:10 "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one [saved] may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad."
COMPELLING EXHORTATION
2 Corinthians 5:11 "Knowing therefore [connects with verse 10] the terror [fear]of the Lord, we persuade men [saved of verse 10]; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences."
FOCUSED ON THE JOY
Acts 20:24 "But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God."
