Text: Romans 4:25 "Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification."
DELIVERED
Romans 4:25 "Who was delivered for our offences
BY THE HEAVENLY COUNSEL
Acts 2:23 "Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:"
CHRIST DIED
1 Corinthians 15:3 "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;"
Isaiah 53:10-11 "It pleased the LORD to ... make his soul an offering for sin, ...11. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied ..."
THE LAMB OF GOD
John 1:29 "The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."
THE WHOLE WORLD
1 John 2:2 "And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world."
IT IS FINISHED
John 19:30 "When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost."
RAISED AGAIN
Romans 4:25 "...Was raised again for our justification."
HE ROSE AGAIN
1 Corinthians 15:4 "And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"
PROLONGED HIS DAYS AS HIGH PRIEST
Isaiah 53:10-12 "...he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. 11. ...by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. 12. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors."
HIGH PRIEST IN RESURRECTION
Hebrews 5:5-6 "So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee. 6. As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec."
THE PROMISE GIVEN BY RESURRECTION
Acts 13:32-33 "And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers, 33. God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee."
JUSTIFICATION
Romans 4:25 "...Was raised again for our justification."
NOT CHARGEABLE
Romans 8:33-34 "Who shall lay any thing to the CHARGE of God's elect? It is God that justifieth [present active participle]. 34. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, YEA RATHER, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us." 1 John 1:9
IF CHRIST BE NOT RISEN
1 Corinthians 15:14-17 "And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your FAITH is also VAIN. 15. Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. 16. For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: 17. And if Christ be not raised, your FAITH IS VAIN; ye are YET IN YOUR SINS." CAN'T PLEASE GOD!
YEA RATHER, IS RISEN
Romans 8:34 "Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, YEA RATHER, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who ALSO maketh intercession for us." Romans 8:27
SAVED BY BELIEVE, JUSTIFICATION BY FAITH
Galatians 2:16 "Knowing that a man is not justified [present passive indicative] by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed [aorist active indicative, salvation] in Jesus Christ, that we might [justification not sure with salvation] be justified [aorist passive subjunctive] by the faith [that does not shipwreck] of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified."
BELIEVING
Acts 13:39 "And by him all that believe [present active participle] are justified [present passive indicative] from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses."
JUSTIFIED BY GRACE
Romans 3:24 "Being justified [present passive participle] freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:"
Galatians 5:4 "Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace."
JUSTIFIED BY FAITH NOT BELIEVE
Romans 3:28 "Therefore we conclude that a man is justified [present passive infinitive] by faith without the deeds of the law."
Romans 4:5 "But to him that worketh [present middle participle, any kind of works apart from works of the law] not, but believeth [present active participle] on him that justifieth [present active participle] the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness."
POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION
Philippians 3:10-11 "That I may know HIM, and THE POWER of his resurrection, and the fellowship of HIS SUFFERINGS, being made conformable unto his death; 11. If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead."
EXCEEDING GREAT POWER
Ephesians 1:19-21 "And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe [present active participle], according to the working of his mighty power, 20. Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21. Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:"
LIVING HOPE THROUGH RESURRECTION
1 Peter 1:3-5 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4. To [FOR] an INHERITANCE incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5. Who are kept by the power of God through faith ..."
