Text: Genesis 9:18-27 "And the sons of Noah, that went forth of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan. 19. These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread.
NOAH WAS NOT A DRUNKARD
20. And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard: 21. And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.
HAM SAW
22. And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw [behold, enjoy, have experience, gaze, take heed, stare] the nakedness of his father, and told [to announce, praise:--bewray, certify, expound, rehearse, show (forth)] his two brethren without.
SHEM AND JAPHETH SAW NOT
23. And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness. 24. And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.
NOAH CURSED CANAAN ONLY
25. And he said, Cursed be Canaan [peddler, merchant]; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
Not Cush, Mizraim, or Phut, only Canaan. Genesis 10:6
Matthew 20:26 "&ldots;but whosoever will be great among you [servant], let him be your minister [servant];"
THE LORD GOD OF SHEM
26. And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.
THE SEED LINE
1 Chronicles 1:24-28 "Shem, Arphaxad, Shelah, 25. Eber, Peleg, Reu, 26. Serug, Nahor, Terah, 27. Abram; the same is Abraham. 28. The sons of Abraham; Isaac, and Ishmael."
JAPHETH BLESS BY SHEM
27. God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant."
Genesis 10:5 "By these were the isles of the Gentiles [as well as Shem and Ham] divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations."
Languages came in chapter 11
EARTH DIVIDED
Genesis 10:25 "And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan."
Genesis 11:1-9 "And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. [a matter, a cause:--affair, business, care, duty, commandment, errand, thought, word, work.]
2. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar [Iraq]; and they dwelt there.
THE WILL OF MAN
3. And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar.
4. And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
5. And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
6. And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
THE WILL OF GOD
7. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.
8. So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
9. Therefore is the name of it called Babel [Babylon]; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth."
Luke 16:15 "&ldots;God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God."
Acts 17:26-27 "And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; 27. That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:"
1 Corinthians 10:11 "Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come."
Deuteronomy 7:1-2 "When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites [Genesis 10:15-18], and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou; 2. And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor show mercy unto them:"
Judges 3:5-7 "And the children of Israel dwelt among the Canaanites, Hittites, and Amorites, and Perizzites, and Hivites, and Jebusites: 6. And they took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their daughters to their sons, and served their gods. 7. And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and forgat the LORD their God, and served Baalim and the groves." also sacrificed their children to Molech.
Romans 13:12-14 "&ldots;let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
13. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
14. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof."
DO NOT WALK IN DARKNESS
John 8:12 "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."
Ephesians 5:3-11 "But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
4. Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
5. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
6. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
7. Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
8. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
9. (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
10. Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
11. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
