Text:
John 6:58 This is that bread
which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are
dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever."
Manna found 5 times in the New Testament, 3 times in John 6.
John 6:31 "Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat."
John 6:49 "Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead."
Exodus 16:12 "I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God."
Exodus 16:16 "This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer [3.5 liters, 3.7 quarts] for every man, according to the number of your persons; take ye every man for them which are in his tents."
Exodus 16:19 "And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning."
Exodus 16:22 "And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses."
1 Corinthians 3:1-3 "And I,
brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal,
even as unto babes in Christ. 2. I have fed
you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not
able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. 3. For ye are yet
carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife,
and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?"
1 Corinthians 2:2 "For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified."
1 Peter 2:1-2 "Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, 2. As newborn babes, desire the sincere [undeceitful, i.e. (fig.) unadulterated] milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby [UNTO SALVATION]:"
BABES
Malice - A desire to harm others or to see others suffer; extreme ill will or spite.
Guile -Treacherous cunning; skillful deceit.
Hypocrisies - The practice of professing beliefs, feelings, or virtues that one does not hold or possess; falseness.
Envies - A feeling of discontent and resentment aroused by and in conjunction with desire for the possessions or qualities of another.
Hebrews 5:10-14 "Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec. 11. Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.
Hebrews 6:11-12 "And we desire that every one of you do show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: 12. That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises."
12. For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong [SOLID] meat. 13. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
Matthew 24:45 "Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat [FOOD] in due season?"
Luke 12:42 "And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat [MEASURED GRAIN] in due season?"
Hebrews 5:14 "But strong
[SOLID] meat [FOOD] belongeth to them that are of full age,
even those who by reason of use have their senses [perception,
judgment] exercised [gumnazo; gymnasium; to practice naked, nothing
hindering; train; repetitions] to discern both good and evil."
Philippians 3:13-15 "Brethren, I
count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do,
forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things
which are before, 14. I press toward the mark [GOAL]
for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. 15.
Let us therefore, as many as be perfect [FULL AGE, A MAN], be thus
minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even
this unto you."
Good fruit - Luke 6:43
Good works - Heb 10:24
Good Word of God - Heb 6:5
Good fight - 2 Timothy 4:7
Good Soldier of Jesus Christ - 2 Timothy 2:3
John 5:29 "And shall come forth;
they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that
have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation."
Romans 2:8-9 "But unto them that
are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey
unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, 9. Tribulation and
anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and
also of the Gentile;"
John 3:20 "For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved."
Isaiah 7:15 "Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good."
Isaiah 28:9-10 "Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. 10. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:"
2 Corinthians 5:9-10 "Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. 10. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad."
Hebrews 6:1-6 "Therefore leaving
the principles [BEGINNING] of the doctrine [WORD] of Christ,
let us go on unto perfection; not laying [PRESENT MIDDLE] again
the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, 2.
Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of
the dead, and of eternal judgment. 3. And this will we do, if God
permit. 4. For it is impossible for those who were once
enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made
partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5. And have tasted the good
word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6. If they
shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to
themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame."
Luke 12:47-48 "And that servant,
which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did
according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. 48. But he that
knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few
stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required:
and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more."
Revelation 2:17 "He that hath an
ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that
overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white
stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that
receiveth it."
Hebrews 9:4 "Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;"
