ROMANS 8:9c (reviewed)

Sunday Morning:  March 19, 2006

Text:  Romans 8:9-11  But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.  10  And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.  11  But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

REVIEW

Romans 8:9  But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

IN THE GARDEN

Mark 14:32-33  And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.  33  And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;

THEY THAT ARE OF CHRIST

Galatians 5:24  And they that are [genitive case, of] Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections [passions] and lusts.

THEY THAT ARE OF CHRIST

1 Corinthians 15: 23  But every man in his own order: Christ the first fruits; afterward they that are Christ's [genitive case, of Christ] at his coming [presence].

IF YE BE OF CHRIST, OF ABRAHAM’S SEED

Galatians 3:29  And if ye be [genitive case, of] Christ's, then are ye [genitive case, of] Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

DECLARE THY NAME TO THE CHILDREN

Hebrews 2:12-13  Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, . . . 13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children [paidion, little children] which God hath given me.

HIS NAME

Revelation 19:13  . . . his name is called The Word of God.

THE WORD OF GOD

Luke 8:10-11  And he said, Unto you it is given to know (seed) the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand. 11 Now the parable (of the sower) is this: The seed (mysteries of the kingdom of God) is the word of God.

HE TOOK THE SEED OF ABRAHAM

Hebrews 2:16-17  For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.  17  Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest . . . .

THE SEED OF ABRAHAM

Hebrews 2:13  . . . Behold I and the children [paidion, little children] which God hath given me.

THE CHILDREN ARE FLESH

Hebrews 2:14  Forasmuch then as the children [paidion, little children] are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; . . .

LITTLE CHILDREN ENTER THE KINGDOM

Matthew 18:3  And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children [paidion, seed of Abraham], ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

ABRAHAM’S SEED IS ANOINTED

Galatians 3:16-19  Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy [Abraham’s] seed, which is Christ [translated, anointed].  17  And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise (agelasting life, 1 John 2:25) of none effect.  18  For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.  19  Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

BRETHREN ARE ANOINTED

2 Corinthians 1:20-21  For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. 21 Now he which stablisheth us with you (brethren, v.8) in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;

REVEALED SALVATION

1 Peter 1:3-5  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,  4  To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,  5  Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

REVEALED SALVATION

1 Peter 1:10-12  Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:  11  Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of [eiv, for] Christ, and the glory that should follow.  12  Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported [rehearsed] unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you..

THE MYSTERY OF CHRIST REVEALED

Ephesians 3:3-5  How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,  4  Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)  5  Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

PAUL’S GOSPEL KEPT SECRET

Romans 16:25-26  Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world (interpretation) [ages, translation] began,  26  But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, . . . made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

MADE KNOW TO HIS SAINTS

Colossians 1:26-27  Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles (saints); which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

SO GREAT SALVATION

Hebrews 2:3  How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, . . .

THE MESSAGE
