FAITH THAT WORKS

Text: Galatians 5:1-6 "Stand
fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not
entangled again with the yoke of bondage. 2. Behold, I Paul say unto
you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. 3. For
I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the
whole law. 4. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are
justified (approved, not saved) by the law (only); ye
are fallen from grace. 5. For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of
righteousness by faith. 6. For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision
availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love."
Galatians
5:6 "For in Jesus Christ neither
circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh
[present middle] by love."

Corinthians 13:1-3 "Though I speak with the tongues of men
and of angels, and have not charity [love], I am become as sounding
brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2. And though I have the gift of prophecy,
and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith,
so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity [love], I
am nothing. 3. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the
poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity [love],
it profiteth me nothing."
2
John 1:6 "And this is love, that
we walk [present active] after (obedience to) his commandments.
This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye
should walk [present active] in it."

Thessalonians 1:3 "We are bound to thank God always for
you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly,

6:10 "For God is not unrighteous to
forget your work and labour of love, which ye have
showed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints,
and do minister."

of thee always in my prayers, 5. Hearing of thy love and faith,
which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward
all saints;"

circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh
[present middle] by love."

the law (moral law alone) in the sight of God, it is evident:
for, The just (the obedient to the moral law) shall live by
faith."

love one another, as I have loved you."

this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."

commandment (law) is charity [love) out of a pure

(sincere):"

13:8-10 "Owe no man any thing, but to love one
another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
9. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill,
Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment,
it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy
neighbour as thyself. 10. Love worketh no ill to
his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the
law (you will be just)."
Romans 3:28 "Therefore we conclude that a man is justified (approved)
by faith without [cwriv, in addition to] the deeds of the law.
(love)"
