PROMISED INHERITANCE
Text: Galatians 3:14-18 "That
the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus
Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
15. Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a
man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man annulleth, or addeth
thereto. 16. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He
saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is
Christ. 17. And this I say, that the covenant, that
was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and
thirty years after, cannot annul, that it should make the promise
of none effect. 18. For if the inheritance be of
the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise."
Galatians
3:14 "That the blessing of Abraham
might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might
[conditional] receive [aorist, an event] the promise
[singular, a specific promise] of the Spirit through (stedfast) faith."
Galatians
3:18 "For (conjunction connecting
verses 14-18) if the inheritance (the blessing of Abraham) be
of the law (It would annul the promise to Abraham, verse 17),
it is no more of promise : but God gave it to Abraham by promise."
Colossians
3:23-24 "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily,
as to the Lord, and not unto men; 24. Knowing that of the Lord ye shall
receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the
Lord Christ."
Galatians
3:17 "And this I say, that the law,
which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant
(made with Abraham) that was confirmed before by God, that it should
make the promise of no effect (not valid)." New King James
Version

Romans
4:16 "Therefore (the promise) it
is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the
promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that
(saved Jews) only which is [out] of the law
(Heb. 11:27-35), but to that (saved Gentiles) also
which is [out] of the faith of Abraham; . .
."

Kings 21:8 "Neither will I make the feet of Israel

Moses commanded them."

2:39 "For the promise is unto you,

. . . (that) they (the many) which are called might

that he is. . ."
Acts
16:31 "And they said, Believe [aorist]
on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved (an event). .

3:22 "But the scripture hath concluded all
(saved) under sin, that the promise by

3:22-23 "Even the righteousness of God which
is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all (Jew and Gentile) and
upon all them that believe [present active, not an event]: for
there is no difference: 23. For all (saved) have sinned,
and come short of the glory of God (in
his kingdom);"
Galatians
3:15 "Brethren, I speak after the

multiply thee. 15. And so, after he had patiently endured
[aorist, an event, his whole life], he obtained (aorist, an

Cast out the bondwoman and her son (Ishmael): for the son of the
