PREACHED THE FAITH
Sunday
Morning: January 19, 2003
Text: Galatians 1:23 "But they had heard only, That he which
persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith
which once he destroyed."
2 Corinthians 4:13-14 "We having the same spirit of [the]
faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have
I spoken; we also believe [present active], and therefore
speak; 14. Knowing that he which raised up the Lord
Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall
present us with you."
Galatians 1:7-8 "Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you,
and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8. But though we, or an
angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we
have preached unto you, let him be accursed."
Romans 1:16-17 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ:
for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the
Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17. For therein is the righteousness
of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The
just shall live by faith."
Romans 3:22 "Even the righteousness of God which is by faith
of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe [present
active (the work of God)]: for there is no difference:"
John 6:29 "Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of
God, that ye believe [present active] on him whom he hath
sent."
Hebrews 11:6 "But without faith it is impossible
to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is,
and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him
(proof of living by faith)."
Romans 10:8-17 "But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in
thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of [the] faith,
which we preach;
9. That if thou shalt confess
(that continues, verse 10) with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe
(that continues, verse 10) in thine heart that God hath raised
him from the dead (that we may have a living hope, 1 Peter 1:3), thou
shalt be saved (the soul, 1 Peter 1:9).
10. For with the heart man believeth
[present active] unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession
[present active] is made unto [leading to] salvation (of
the soul).
11. For the scripture saith, Whosoever
believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12. For there is no difference between
the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call
[present middle] upon him.
13. For whosoever shall call (and
not quit) upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14. How then shall they call on
him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of
whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15. And how shall they preach, except
they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach
the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good
things!
16. But they have not all obeyed the
gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17. So then [the] faith
cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
Luke 8:10-11 "And he said, Unto you it is given to know the (seed)
mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing
they might not see, and hearing they might not understand. 11. Now the
parable is this: The seed (the mysteries of the kingdom of God)
is the word of God."
1 Corinthians 16:13
"Watch ye, stand fast (stationary, persevere)
in the faith, quit you like men (manly), be
strong."
Ephesians 6:14-17 "Stand [staunch] therefore, having your loins
girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of
righteousness; 15. And your feet shod with the preparation of the
gospel of peace; 16. Above all, taking the shield of [the]
faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the
wicked. 17. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword
of the Spirit, which is the word of God:"
Philippians 1:27 "Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of
Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your
affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving
together (jointly) for the faith of the gospel;"
Colossians 1:22-23 "In the body of his flesh through death [thanatos, (in
the garden not the cross)], to present you holy and unblameable
and unreproveable in his sight: 23. If ye continue
in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved
away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which
was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a
minister;"
Colossians 2:6-7 "As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk
ye in him: 7. Rooted and built up in him, and stablished [firm]
in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with
thanksgiving."
1 Timothy 1:18-19 "This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy,
according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them
mightest war a good warfare; 19. Holding [esteem, regarding]
[the] faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away (that
esteem for the faith) concerning faith have made shipwreck:"
1 Timothy 4:1 "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter
times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to
seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;"
1
Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil:
which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith,
and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
2 Timothy 4:7-8 "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my
course, I have kept [guarded] the faith:
8. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness,
which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me
only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."
1 Peter 1:6-9 "Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season,
if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
7. That the trial of your [the] faith, being much more
precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, (your
faith) might be found unto praise and honour and glory
at the appearing of Jesus Christ: 8. Whom having not seen, ye love
[present active]; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing
[present active], ye rejoice [present active] with joy
unspeakable and full of glory: 9. Receiving the end of your [the]
faith, even the salvation of your souls."
1 Peter 5:8-11 "Be sober [under control), be vigilant
[watch]; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion,
walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9. Whom resist stedfast
in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are
accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 10. But the
God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal [agelasting]
glory (in the millennial kingdom) by Christ Jesus, after that ye
have suffered (the testing of your faith) a while, make you perfect,
stablish, strengthen, settle you. 11. To him be glory
and dominion for ever and ever. Amen."
2 Corinthians 13:5 "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith;
prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ
is in you (Abba spirit), except ye be reprobates [disapproved]?"
Acts 14:22 "Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting
them to continue in the faith, and that we must through
much tribulation enter into the kingdom of
God."
