Text:
Galatians 1:1
"Paul,
an
apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but
by Jesus Christ, and
God the Father,
who raised him from the dead;)"
Philippians 3:5-6
"Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of
Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews;
as touching the law, a
Pharisee;
6. Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which
is in the law,
blameless."
Acts 22:3
"I am verily a man which am a Jew,
born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet
brought up
in this city
at the feet of
Gamaliel,
and
taught according to the perfect
manner of
the law of the fathers,
and was
zealous
toward
God,
as ye all are this day."
Acts 5:34
"Then stood there up one in the council, a
Pharisee, named
Gamaliel,
a doctor of the law, had in
reputation
among all
the
people, . . ."
Galatians 1:14-16
"And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation,
being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers. 15. But when
it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and
called me by his grace, 16. To reveal his Son in
me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not
with flesh and blood:"
Acts 9:3-6
"And as he journeyed, he came near
Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a
light from heaven: 4. And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto
him,
Saul,
Saul, why persecutest thou me? 5. And he said, Who art
thou,
Lord? And the Lord said, I am
Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
6. And he trembling and astonished said,
Lord,
what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto
him, Arise, and go into the city, and
it shall be
told thee what thou must do."
Acts 9:15-16
"But the Lord said unto
him
(Ananias), Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to
bear
my
name
before
the
Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: 16.
For I will show him how great things he must suffer for my
name's sake."
Galatians 1:23
"But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past
now preacheth the faith
which once he destroyed."
Galatians 1:17-18
"Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before
me; but I went into
Arabia,
and returned again unto Damascus. 18. Then
after three
years I went up to
Jerusalem
to see Peter, and abode with him
fifteen days."
Acts 9:27
"But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto
them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and
how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus."
Galatians 2:1-2
"Then fourteen years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and
took Titus with me also. 2. And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto
them
that gospel which I
preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of
reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain."
Acts 15:1-2
"And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said,
Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses,
ye cannot be saved. 2. When therefore Paul and Barnabas had
no small dissension and disputation with them,
they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go
up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question."
Matthew 19:24-25
"And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a
needle, than for a rich man to
enter into the
kingdom of God. 25. When his disciples heard it, they were
exceedingly amazed, saying,
Who then can be
saved?"
Matthew 19:27-29
"Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and
followed thee; what shall we have therefore? 28. And Jesus said unto them,
Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration
when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory,
ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of
Israel. 29. And every one that hath forsaken houses, or
brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands,
for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall
inherit
everlasting
life."
Acts 15:6-11
"And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter. 7.
And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men
and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that
the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. 8.
And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness,
giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
9. And put no difference between us and them,
purifying their
hearts by faith. 10. Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a
yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were
able to bear? 11. But we
believe
[present active indicative]
that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved [aorist active infinitive,
to be saved], even
as they."
Acts 10:1-2
"There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band
called the Italian band, 2. A devout
man, and one that
feared God
with all his house, which
gave much alms
to the people, and
prayed to God alway."
Acts 10:22
"And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a
just
man,
and
one that feareth God,
and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an
holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee."
Acts 10:31
"And said, Cornelius, thy prayer
is heard, and thine
alms
are had in
remembrance in the sight of God."
Acts 10:35-37
"But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is
accepted with him. 36. The word which God
sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus
Christ: (he is Lord of all:) 37. That word, I say, ye know, which was
published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee,
after the
baptism which John preached;"
Acts 10:43-44
"To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever
believeth [present active] in
him shall receive
remission
[deliverance, liberty] of sins. 44. While Peter yet spake these words,
the
Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word
[of the kingdom]."
Galatians 1:1
"Paul,
an
apostle [sent from], (not
of men, neither by man, but
by Jesus Christ,
and
God the Father, who
raised him
from
the
dead;)"
2 Timothy 2:7-13
"Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things. 8.
Remember that
Jesus Christ of the
seed of David was raised from the dead according to
my gospel: 9. Wherein I
suffer
trouble, as an
evil
doer, even unto
bonds;
but the
word of God is
not
bound.
10. Therefore I endure all things
for
the
elect's
sakes, that they may also obtain the
salvation
which is
in
Christ Jesus with eternal glory. 11. It is a faithful
saying: For if we be
dead
with him, we shall also
live
with him: 12. If we
suffer
[endure], we shall also
reign
with
him:
if we deny
him
(not endure), he also will deny us (we will not reign with Him):
13. If we
believe [present active]
not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself."
