WALK ACCORDINGLY
Sunday Morning: October 6,
2002
Text:
Galatians 6:16-18
"And as many as walk [march in rank] according to this
rule [line],
peace be on them, and mercy,
and upon the Israel of God. 17. From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I
bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus. 18.
Brethren,
the grace of our Lord Jesus
Christ be with your
spirit.
Amen."
Galatians 5:16
"This I say then,
Walk [to be occupied with] in [by] the
Spirit, and ye shall not
fulfill the lust of the flesh."
Galatians 5:25 "If we
live (as in walking) in [by] the
Spirit, let us also
walk [march in line] in [by] the
Spirit."
Galatians 4:4-6 "But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5. To redeem them (those in the family, Israel) that were under the law, that we (family) might receive the adoption of sons [one word to place as a son, singular]. 6. And because ye are (walking as) sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father."
John 14:16-17 "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17. Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you."
Galatians 3:2-5 "This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3. Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? 4. Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain. 5. He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?"
Mark 14:36 "And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt."
John 4:34 "Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work."
John 5:30 "I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me."
John 6:38 "For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me."
John 8:29 "And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him."
Matthew 7:21 "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."
Romans 8:14-15 "For as many as are
led by the Spirit
(of sonship) of God, they are
(behaving like) the sons of God. 15. For ye have not received the
spirit of bondage again to fear; but
ye have received the Spirit of adoption,
whereby we cry, Abba, Father."
Romans 8:23 "And not only they, but
ourselves also, which have the
firstfruits of the Spirit, even we
ourselves groan within ourselves,
waiting
for
the
adoption
[placed as a son], to wit, the
redemption
of
our
body."
Galatians 6:7-9
"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man
soweth,
that shall he also reap. 8. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap
corruption; but he that soweth to the
Spirit shall of the Spirit
reap life everlasting
[agelasting]. 9. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due
season we shall reap,
if we faint not."
Mark 10:28-30 "Then Peter began to say
unto him, Lo, we have left all,
and have followed thee. 29. And
Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left
house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or
lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, 30. But he
shall
receive an hundredfold now in
this
time,
houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with
persecutions; and in the
world [age] to come
[the one coming] eternal
[agelasting] life."
Romans 2:6-7 "Who will
render to every man according
to
his
deeds:
7. [agelasting life] To them who by patient
continuance in well doing
seek
for glory and
honour and immortality
[incorruption, opposite of corruption],
eternal
[agelasting] life:"
1 Timothy 6:17-19
"Charge them that are
rich in this world, that they be
not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who
giveth us richly all things to enjoy; 18. That
they do good, that they be
rich in good works,
ready to distribute, willing to communicate; 19.
Laying up
in store for themselves a good foundation against the
time to come,
that they may lay hold on
eternal [agelasting] life."
Galatians 5:16-17 "This I say then, Walk (to live, fig.) in the spirit (of a son, not the Holy Spirit], and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit (of sonship), and the Spirit (of a sonship) against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would."
Galatians 5:22 "But the fruit of the Spirit (of sonship, not the Holy Spirit) is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,"
