Text:
Hebrews 13:22-25
"And
I
beseech you,
brethren,
suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a
letter unto you in few words. 23. Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at
liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you. 24. Salute all them
that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you. 25.
Grace be with you all. Amen."
Hebrews 13:22
"And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for
I have written a letter unto you in few words."
OLD TESTAMENT TYPES
1 Corinthians 10:11
"Now all these things happened unto them for
ensamples [types]: and they are written for our
admonition [rebuke or warning],
upon whom the ends of the world [age] are come."
Hebrews 10:1
"For the
law
having a
shadow of
good things to come, and not the very image of the things . "
Hebrews 13:22
"And I beseech you,
brethren, . . ."
Matthew 12:50

which is in heaven, the same is my
brother.
. ."
Matthew 7:21
"Not
every
one
that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall
enter into the
kingdom of heaven; but he that
doeth the will
of my Father which is in heaven."
Luke 8:21
"And he answered and said unto them, My mother and
my
brethren
are these which
hear
[present active] the
word of God
[mysteries of the kingdom], and
do
it."
SUFFER EXHORTATION
Hebrews 13:22
"And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word
of exhortation: . . ."
Hebrews 3:12-15
"Take
heed, brethren,
lest there be in any of
you
(brethren) an evil heart of
unbelief
[faithless, negative faith], in
departing
from the living God. 13. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To
day;
lest any of
you (brethren) be
hardened
through the deceitfulness of sin. 14. For
we
(writer and brethren) are made partakers of Christ, if
we
(writer and brethren)
hold
the beginning of our confidence
stedfast
unto the
end; 15. While it is said, To
day if
ye (brethren) will
hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation."
Hebrews 3:19
"So we see that
they could not enter
in
because of
unbelief [apistia,
faithless]."
Ezekiel 20:6
"In the day that I lifted up mine hand unto them, to bring them forth of the
land of Egypt into
a land
that I had
espied for them,
flowing with milk and honey, which is the
glory of all
lands:"
DENIED ENTRANCE
BECAUSE . . .
Ezekiel 20:15-16
"Yet also I lifted up my hand unto them in the wilderness, that I would
not
bring
them
into
the
land which I had given them,
flowing with
milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands; 16.
Because they
despised
my
judgments, and
walked
not
in my statutes, but
polluted
my sabbaths: for
their
heart
went
after their idols."
TO THEIR CHILDREN
Ezekiel 20:18
"But I said unto
their
children in the wilderness,
Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers,
neither
observe
their judgments,
nor
defile yourselves with their idols:"
GATHERING ISRAEL FROM
THE NATIONS
Ezekiel 20:34-36
"And
I will bring you out
from the people, and
will gather you out
of the countries wherein ye are
scattered,
with a
mighty hand, and with a
stretched out arm, and with fury poured out. 35. And
I will bring you into the
wilderness
of the people, and there will I
plead
with you face to face. 36.
Like as I pleaded
with your fathers in the
wilderness
of the land of Egypt, so will I
plead
with you, saith the Lord GOD."
NOT ALL ENTER THE
LAND
Ezekiel 20:38
"And
I will purge out
from among you the
rebels,
and them that
transgress
against me:
I will bring them
forth out
of the country where they sojourn, and
they shall not
enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I
am the LORD."
LEST WE NOT ENTER
Hebrews 4:1, 2
"Let
us
(writer and brethren) therefore
fear,
lest, a promise being left
us
(writer and brethren) of
entering
into his
rest, any of you should seem to
come short of it. 2. For unto us
was the gospel (of the kingdom) preached, as well as unto them: but the
word
preached
(about the land flowing with milk and honey) did
not
profit them,
not
being
mixed with
faith in them that heard it."
LEST WE BECOME
LAWLESS
Hebrews 4:11
"Let
us
(writer and brethren)
labour
therefore to enter into that rest,
lest
any man fall after the same example of
unbelief
[disobedience]."
Hebrews 12:15-16
"Looking diligently
lest
any man [one] (brethren) fail of the grace
of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you (brethren),
and thereby many be defiled; 16.
Lest
there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of
meat
sold
his
birthright."
Hebrews 2:9
"But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the
suffering of [the]
death
[thanatos], crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God
should taste death for every man."
Ephesians 1:3
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath
blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:"
Ephesians 1:18-21
"The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is .
. . 19. . . . the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who
believe [present active], according to the
working of his mighty power, 20. Which he wrought in Christ, when he
raised him from the dead, and set him
at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21. Far
above (our enemies) all
principality, and
power,
and
might, and
dominion, and every name that is named, not only in
this world [age], but also in that which is
to
come [coming millennial kingdom age]:"
Hebrews 2:17-18
"Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren,
that he might be a
merciful
and
faithful
high
priest
in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the
people. 18. For in that he himself hath
suffered
being
tempted, he is
able to
succour
them that are tempted."
Hebrews 9:14
"How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit
offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to
serve the living God?"
Hebrews 10:35-36
"Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of
reward.
36. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye
might receive
the
promise."
LIVE BY FAITH
Hebrews 10:38-39 "Now the just shall
live by faith: but if any man draw back, my
soul shall have no pleasure in him. 39. But we are not of them
who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe [faith]
to the saving of the soul [life]."
