Text: Hebrews 12: 24
"And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant,
and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better
things than that of Abel."
Hebrews 8:6-7 "But now hath he obtained a
more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a
better (preferred) covenant,
which was established upon
better (preferred) promises. 7. For if that
first
covenant (Old Testament) had been faultless, then should no place have been
sought for the second.
Hebrews 8:8-12 "For finding
fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will
make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: 9.
Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I
took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they
continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. 10. For
this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those
days, saith the Lord; I will put
my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts:
and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: 11. And
they shall not teach
every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for
all shall know me,
from the least to the greatest. 12. For I will be merciful to their
unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more."
Romans 11:25-27 "For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. 26. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27. For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins."
Hebrews 9:11-15 "But Christ being come an
high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle,
not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; 12. Neither by the
blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the
holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. 13.
For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the
ashes of an heifer
sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth
to the purifying of the
flesh: 14. How much more shall
the blood of Christ, who through
the eternal
[agelasting] Spirit offered himself
without spot to God, purge
your conscience from
dead works
to
serve
the living God? 15. And for this cause
he is the mediator of the new testament,
that by means of death, for the redemption of the
transgressions
(transgressors) that were under the first testament, they which are
called
might
receive the
promise of eternal
[agelasting] inheritance."
Hebrews 12:24 "And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel."
Genesis 4:4 "And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:"
Hebrews 11:4 "By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous [just], God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh."
1 Peter
1:1-2 "Peter, an apostle of
Jesus Christ, to the [elect] strangers scattered [sown]
throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, 2. Elect
according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of
the Spirit (the spirit of sonship), unto obedience and
sprinkling of the blood (for service with a clear conscience)
of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied."
Matthew 26:27-28 "And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; 28. For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission [deliverance] of [from] sins."
Luke 4:18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,"
Ephesians 1:7 "In whom we have redemption (deliverance and liberty) through his blood, the forgiveness [remission] of sins, according to the riches of his grace;"
Colossians 1:12-14 "Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13. Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14. In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:"
Hebrews 10:19 "Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,"
Hebrews 11:28 "Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them."
John 19:33-34 "But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs: 34. But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water."
Hebrews 13:20-21 "Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21. Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen."
1 John 1:7-9 "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
