Text: Hebrews 12:18-24
Hebrews 12:18-21 "For ye are not come unto
the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto
blackness, and darkness, and tempest, 19. And the sound of a trumpet, and the
voice of words; which voice they that heard entreated that the word should not
be spoken to them any more: 20. (For they could not endure that which was
commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned,
or thrust through with a dart: 21. And so terrible was the sight, that Moses
said, I exceedingly fear and quake:)"
Exodus 19:12 "And thou shalt set bounds
unto the people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that ye go not
up into the mount, or touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth the mount
shall be surely put to death:"
2 Corinthians 3:6-9
"Who also hath made us able ministers of the
new testament; not of the letter, but of
the spirit: for the letter
killeth, but the spirit giveth life. 7. But if the ministration of death,
written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel
could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his
countenance; which glory was to be done away: 8. How shall not the
ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? 9. For if the ministration of
condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed
in glory."
Exodus 20:18-19 "And all the people saw the
thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the
mountain smoking: and when the people saw it,
they removed, and stood afar off. 19. And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but
let not God speak with us, lest we die."
Hebrews 12:22-24 "But ye are come unto mount
Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the
heavenly
Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, 23. To the general assembly and
church of the firstborn,
which are written in heaven, and to
God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24. And to
Jesus the mediator of the new
covenant, and to the
blood of sprinkling,
that speaketh better things than that of Abel."
Hebrews 8:6-8 "But now hath he obtained a
more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a
better covenant, which was established upon better promises. 7. For if that
first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for
the second.
8. For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the
Lord, when I will make a new
covenant with the house of Israel
and with the house of Judah:"
Hebrews 10:19-23 "Having therefore, brethren,
boldness to enter into the
holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20.
By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil,
that is to say, his flesh; 21. And having an high priest over the house of
God; 22. Let us draw near
with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our
hearts sprinkled
from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. 23. Let us
hold fast the profession [confession]
of our faith
[hope] without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)"
Hebrews 7:19 "For the law made nothing
perfect, but the bringing in of a
better hope
did; by the which we draw nigh
unto God."
Ephesians 2:13 "But now in Christ Jesus ye
who sometimes were far off are
made nigh by the blood of Christ."
Ephesians 2:17 "And came and preached peace
to you which were afar off,
and to them that were nigh."
Galatians 4:21-26
"Tell me, ye that desire to be under the
law, do ye not hear the law? 22. For it is written, that Abraham had
two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. 23. But he who was of
the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by
promise. 24. Which things are an
allegory:
for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount
Sinai, which gendereth to bondage,
which is Agar. 25. For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to
Jerusalem which now is,
and is in bondage with her children. 26. But
Jerusalem which is above is free,
which is the mother of us all."
Hebrews 11:10 "For
he looked for a city
which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God."
Hebrews 11:16 "But now
they desire a better country, that
is, an heavenly: wherefore God is
not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath
prepared for them a city."
John 14:1-3 "Let
not your heart be troubled: ye
believe in God, believe also in me. 2. In my
Father's house
are many mansions: if it were not so,
I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3. And if I go and
prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am,
there ye may be also."
Luke 10:19-20 "Behold, I give unto you
power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy:
and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20. Notwithstanding in this rejoice
not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your
names are written in heaven."
Malachi 3:16-18 "Then they that feared the
LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a
book of remembrance was written
before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. 17.
And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my
jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that
serveth
him. 18. Then shall
ye return,
and discern
between the righteous and the wicked,
between him that serveth God
and him that serveth him not."
Revelation 3:4-6 "Thou hast a few names even
in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me
in white: for they are worthy. 5. He that overcometh, the same shall be
clothed in white raiment; and I
will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his
name before my Father, and before
his angels. 6. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit
saith unto the churches."
Jeremiah 17:10 "I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings."
Jeremiah 17:13 "O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters."
Psalms 24:3-5 "Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? 4. He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. 5. He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation."
