HE IS RISEN
Sunday Morning:
March 31, 2002
Read:
Matthew 28:1-10
Text: Matthew 28:7-10 "And go quickly, and tell his disciples (and
Peter, Mark 16:7) that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he
goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
8. And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy;
and did run to bring his disciples word. 9. And as they went to
tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All
hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
10.
Then
said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren
that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me."

for every man."
2 Corinthians 5:14-15
"For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if
one died for all, then were all dead: 15. And that he
died for all, that they which live (salvation) should not
henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died
for them, and rose again."
John 19:30
"When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is
finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost." (salvation for

was the priest of the most high God."
PRIEST'S OFFICE
Exodus 28:1
"And take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his
sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister
unto me in the priest's office."
Psalms 2:7
"I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art
my Son; this day have I begotten thee."
REVEALED
IN THE NEW TESTAMENT
Acts 13:33
"God hath fulfilled the same unto us
their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also
written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I
begotten thee."
Psalms 16:8-11
"I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right
hand, I shall not be moved. 9. Therefore my heart is glad, and
my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope (of
glory and kingdom). 10. For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell [grave];
neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One (Christ) to see
corruption. 11. Thou wilt show me the path of life (into the
kingdom): in thy presence is fulness of joy;
at thy right hand there are pleasures for
evermore." (approved)
HIGH PRIEST FOR HIS
SEED
Isaiah 53:10-11 "Yet it pleased
the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make
his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he
shall prolong his days (as our high priest), and
the pleasure (of his will according to grace) of the LORD shall
prosper in his hand. 11. He shall see of the travail of his soul,
and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous
servant justify many (disciples); for he shall bear (the
consequences, thanatos) their (brethren) iniquities."
1 Corinthians 15:13-20
"But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is
Christ not risen:
14.
And
if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and
your faith is also vain.
15.
Yea,
and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that
he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.
16.
For if the dead rise
not, then is not Christ raised:
SLAVE TO SIN
17.
And
if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are
yet in your sins. (Saved yet still a slave)
18.
Then
they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
MISERABLE HOPE
19.
If
in this life only we have hope in Christ (resurrection), we are
of all men most miserable.
NOW IS CHRIST RISEN
20.
But now is Christ
risen from the dead, . . ."
WE
CAN PLEASE GOD
Hebrews 11:6
"But without faith it is
impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must
believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently
seek him."
Romans 4:25
"Who . . was raised again for
our justification." Romans 5:1-2 "Therefore being justified by faith (that is
not vain), we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2.
By whom also we have access by faith (that is not vain)
into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of
the glory of God."
Matthew 28:10
"Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren
that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me."
Acts
2:29-31 "Men and
brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he
is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. 30.
Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to
him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise
up Christ to sit on his throne; 31. He seeing this before spake of
the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell [grave],
neither his flesh did see corruption."
PREACHED
THE
RESURRECTION
Acts 4:33

of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all."
Ephesians 1:17-21

unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18.
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is
the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance
in the saints, 19. And what is the exceeding greatness of his
power to us-ward (saints and faithful) who believe
[present active participle], according to the working of his mighty
power, 20. Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the
dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21. Far above all principality, and power, and might,
and dominion, (our enemies) . . . "
Romans 10:9-11
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe (aorist, big dot) in thine heart that God hath raised him from the
dead, thou shalt be saved. 10. For with the heart man believeth
[present active] unto [leading to] righteousness; and
with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (of the soul). 11.
For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth [present active] on
him shall not be ashamed."
NOT
OF FAITH, CHARGEABLE!
Romans 14:23
". . . for whatsoever is not of faith is
sin."
1 Peter 1:3-5
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which
according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively
hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from
the dead, 4. To [leading to] an inheritance
incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for
you, 5. Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation
ready to be revealed in the last time."
Philippians 3:10-11

fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 11.
If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection
of the dead."

the mark for the prize of the high calling
of God in Christ Jesus."
Revelation 20:6
"Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first [best]
resurrection: on such the second death hath no power (Christ bore
the consequences), but they shall be priests of God and of Christ,
and shall reign with him a thousand years."
