Text:
Matthew 24:6-8 "And ye shall
hear of wars and rumours of wars: see
that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass,
but the end is not yet. 7. For nation shall rise against
nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there
shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in
divers places. 8. All these are the beginning of sorrows."
Luke 21:25-26
"And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the
stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and
the waves roaring; 26. Men's hearts failing them for fear, and
for looking after those things which are coming
on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken."
Luke 1:74
"That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of
the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,"
Luke 1:11-16
"And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right
side of the altar of incense. 12. And when Zacharias saw him,
he was troubled, and fear fell upon him. 13. But the angel said
unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy
wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
14. And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his
birth. 15. For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall
drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy
Ghost, even from his mother's womb. 16. And many of the children of
Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God."
Luke 1:59-65
"And it came to pass, that on the eighth day they came to circumcise
the child; and they called him Zacharias, after the name of his father. 60.
And his mother answered and said, Not so; but he shall be called
John. 61. And they said unto her, There is none of thy kindred that is
called by this name. 62. And they made signs to his father, how he
would have him called. 63. And he asked for a writing table, and wrote,
saying, His name is John. And they marvelled all. 64. And his mouth was
opened immediately, and his tongue loosed, and he spake, and praised
God. 65. And fear came on all that dwelt round about them: and
all these sayings were noised abroad throughout all the hill country of
Judaea."
Luke 1:26-34, 37-38 "And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God
unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, 27. To a virgin espoused to a
man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was
Mary. 28. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou
that art highly favoured [graced], the Lord is
with thee: blessed art thou among women. 29. And
when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in
her mind what manner of salutation this should be. 30. And the angel
said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour
[grace] with God. 31. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy
womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. 32. He
shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God
shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33. And he shall
reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no
end. 34. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I
know not a man?"
"37. For with God nothing shall be impossible.
38. And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me
according to thy word. And the angel departed from her."
Matthew 1:18-21
"Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother
Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with
child of the Holy Ghost. 19. Then Joseph her husband, being a just
man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her
away privily. 20. But while he thought on these things, behold, the
angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of
David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is
conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21. And she shall bring forth a
son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from
their sins."
Luke 2:8-14
"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field,
keeping watch over their flock by night. 9. And, lo, the angel of the
Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and
they were sore afraid. 10. And the angel said unto them, Fear
not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to
all people. 11. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a
Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12. And this shall be a sign
unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a
manger. 13. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the
heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14. Glory to God in the
highest, and on earth peace, good will toward
men [And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased]. "
Matthew 2:1-3
"Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of
Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, 2.
Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen
his star in the east, and are come to worship him. 3. When Herod
the king had heard these things, he was troubled,
and all Jerusalem with him."
Matthew 8:26
"And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?
Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great
calm." (Faith will calm our spirit)
John 14:1-3
"Let not your heart be troubled [present passive]: ye
believe [present active] in God, believe [present active]
also in me. 2. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were
not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive
you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
John 14:27
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world
giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let
it be afraid."
Philippians 4:6-9 "Be careful for nothing; but in every
thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made
known unto God. 7. And the peace of God, which passeth all
understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds
through Christ Jesus. 8. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things
are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are
just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue,
and if there be any praise, think on these
things. 9. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received,
and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you."
Romans 8:15-17 "For ye have not received
the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have
received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16. The
Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of
God: 17. And if children, then heirs; heirs of
God, and joint-heirs with
Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also
glorified together."
Luke 12:32
"Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure
to give you the kingdom."
2 Timothy 1:7
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power,
and of love, and of a sound mind."
