WILLFUL SIN JUDGED

Sunday Morning:  November 25, 2001

Text: Hebrews 10:26-31  "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27. But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 28. He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29. Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God (Melchisedec), and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy [common, unclean] thing, and hath done despite [abuse, insult] unto the Spirit of grace [power of Christ]? 30. For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. 31. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."

IRREVOCABLE JUDGMENT

APPROVED BY FIRE

1 Corinthians 3:13-15  "Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try [approve] every man's work of what sort it is. 14. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss [hurt]: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by [through] fire."

FIRE FROM THE LORD

Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellow servant, even as I had pity on thee? 34. And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. 35. So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses."
