Text:
Hebrews 2:16-18 "For verily he took not on him the nature of angels;
but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
17.
Wherefore in all
things it behoved him to be made like unto his
brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high
priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for
the sins of the people.
18.
For in that he
himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour
them that are tempted."
Hebrews 2:16
"For verily he took not on him the nature of
angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
1 John 4:2 "Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that
confesseth that Jesus Christ is come [perfect active] in the flesh is
of God:"
Hebrews 2:14
"Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood,
he also himself likewise took part of the same;
that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is,
the devil;"

an hundred years old, and begat Arphaxad two years after the flood:"
Genesis 11:26 "And Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram,
Nahor, and Haran."
Galatians 3:16 "Now to Abraham and his seed were the
promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but
as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
Galatians 4:22 "For it is written, that Abraham had two sons,
the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman."
Galatians 4:28 "Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the
children of promise."
Hebrews 2:17 "Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto
his brethren, that he might be a merciful [compassionate]
and faithful high priest in things pertaining to
God, to make reconciliation (propitious, favorable, merciful) for the
sins of the people."
Luke 18:13-14 "And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so
much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be
merciful [propitious, favorable] to me a sinner.
14. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified (un-chargeable)
rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be
abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted."
Hebrews 9:11 "But Christ being come an high priest of good things
to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that
is to say, not of this building;"
Hebrews 2:18
"For in that he himself hath
suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are
tempted."
Hebrews 4:14-16 "Seeing then that we have a great high
priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold
fast our profession. 15. For we have not an high priest which
cannot be touched [sumpaqew, sympathize] with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in
all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
16. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may
obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."
1 Peter 4:1-2
"Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us
in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind:
for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; 2. That he
no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of
men, but to the will of God."
Mark 9:17-24 "And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have
brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit; 18. And wheresoever
he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth,
and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out;
and they could not. 19. He answereth him, and saith, O faithless
generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring
him unto me. 20. And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him,
straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed
foaming. 21. And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this
came unto him? And he said, Of a child. 22. And ofttimes it hath cast
him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do
any thing, have compassion on us, and help [succour] us.
23. Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are
possible to him that believeth. 24. And straightway the father of the
child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help [succour]
thou mine unbelief."
Matthew 15:22-28 "And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts,
and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of
David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. 23.
But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and
besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. 24. But
he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of
Israel. 25. Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord,
help [succour] me. 26. But he answered and said, It is not
meet to take the children's bread, and cast it to dogs. 27. And
she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their
masters' table. 28. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman,
great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter
was made whole from that very hour."
Hebrews 13:6 "So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my
helper (succour) , and I will not fear what man shall do
unto me."
