1 Thessalonians 5:1
"But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you."1 Thessalonians 1:4 "Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God."
1 Thessalonians 4:13 "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope."
1 Thessalonians 5:2 "For yourselves know perfectly [circumspectly] that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night."
1 Thessalonians 5:4-5 "But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5. Ye are all the children [uji>ov, sons] of light, and the children [uji>ov, sons] of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness."

8. But let us, who are of the day, be sober [present active subjunctive, may be sober], putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation."
Ephesians 6:13-18 "Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15. And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16. Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;"
Luke 21:34-36 "And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting (wasteful pleasure), and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
35. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
36. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things (excessive live style, drunkenness, cares of life) that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man."
