Text:  Romans 8:17-18  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.  18  For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

BABES ARE CARNAL

1 Corinthians 3:1  And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.

BABES FEED ON MILK

1 Corinthians 3:2  I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

BABES, DULL OF HEARING

Hebrews 5:10-12  Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.  11  Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.  12  For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye . . . are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

JOINT-HEIRS WITH CHRIST

Romans 8:17  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

EAT THE SAME FOOD

John 4:34  Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

BUTTER AND HONEY

Isaiah 7:15  Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.

AFTER MILK

Hebrews 5:14  But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

LEARN TO CHURN THE MILK

Proverbs 30:33  Surely the churning of milk bringeth forth butter, . . .

HONEY ENLIGHTENS THE EYES

1 Samuel 14:29  Then said Jonathan, . . . see, I pray you, how mine eyes have been enlightened, because I tasted a little of this honey.

NO LONGER BABES

Ephesians 1:17-18  That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge [exact knowledge] of him:  18  The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

Hebrews 6:1  Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; . . .

THE HONEY

Hebrews 6:3  And this will we do, if God permit.

HARD TO BE TAUGHT TO BABES

APPOINTED HEIR OF ALL THINGS

Hebrews 1:2  Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

GOOD THINGS TO COME

Hebrews 9:15  And for this cause he (Christ) is the mediator of (His estate) the new (will and) testament, that by means of death (of the testator), for the redemption of the transgression(or)s that were under the first (Old) testament, they which are called (to the heavenly calling, 3:1) might receive the promise of eternal [age-lasting, millennial] inheritance.

OVERCOMERS INHERIT ALL THINGS

Revelation 21:7  He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

IF WE ENDURE WE WILL REIGN

2 Timothy 2:12  If we suffer [endure], we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:

SIT WITH ME IN MY THRONE

Revelation 3:21  To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

REIGN WITH HIM

Revelation 20:6  Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first [best, chief] resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

IF WE SUFFER

PETER ESCAPED SUFFERING

NOT ONLY TO BELIEVE BUT SUFFER

Philippians 1:29  For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe [present active] on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

SUFFER FROM PERSECUTION

Matthew 5:10-12  Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.  11  Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.  12  Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

 SUFFER TO BE COUNTED WORTHY

2 Thessalonians 1:4-5  So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:  5  Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:

THE GODLY WILL SUFFER

2 Timothy 3:11-12  Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.  12  Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
