Text: Romans
5:5-10 And hope maketh not ashamed;
because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is
given unto us. 6 For when we were yet without strength, in due
time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one
die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8 But
God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ
died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his
blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10 For
if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son,
much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
REVIEW

maketh not ashamed; because the

OPEN
SHAME

renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God (high priest) afresh, and put him to an
open shame.
GARMENTS
COVER SHAME
Revelation 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is
he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
BUY
GOLD, RAIMENT, EYESALVE
Revelation 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in
the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white
raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that
thou mayest see.
RIGHTEOUS
ACTS
Revelation 19:8 And to her
(His bride) was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness [righteous acts]
of saints.
HOPE
OF GLORY
Romans 5:2 By whom also we have access by faith into
this grace (power, strength)
wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
MADE
KNOWN TO HIS SAINTS
Colossians 1:26-27 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but
now is made manifest to his saints:
27 To whom God would make known
what is the riches of the glory
of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
CALLED
TO HIS KINGDOM AND GLORY
1 Thessalonians
2:12 That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.
NOT
ALL CALLED
Matthew 22:14 For many are called, but few are
chosen [call out, elect].
WALK
WORTHY
Ephesians 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech
you that ye walk worthy of the vocation [calling] wherewith ye
are called,
A
WORTHY WALK
Colossians 1:10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful
in every good work, and increasing
in the knowledge of God;
OUR
FAITH AND HOPE
1 Peter 1:20-21 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you (the elect v.1), 21 Who
by him (Christ) do believe [present
active participle] in God, that raised
him (Christ) up from the dead, and gave
him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
THE
“YOU” OF VERSE 20
1 Peter 1:1 ASV Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the elect who are sojourners of the Dispersion in Pontus,
Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
CHRIST
DIED FOR THE UNGODLY
Romans 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due
time Christ died for the ungodly.
THE
LAMB OF GOD
John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto
him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God,
which taketh away the sin of the world.
CHRIST
DIED FOR US
Romans 5:8 But God
commendeth his love toward us [1473], in that, while we
were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
CHRIST
DIED FOR OUR SINS
1 Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that
which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the
scriptures;
CHRIST
DIED FOR ALL
2 Corinthians 5:14 For the love of Christ constraineth us;
because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
BELOVED,
CALLED, SAINTS
Romans 1:6-7 Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ: 7 To
all that be in Rome, beloved of God,
called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God
our [1473] Father, and the
Lord Jesus Christ.
“WE”
Romans 5:6 For when we
[1473] were yet without strength (grace), in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
ABRAHAM,
FATHER OF “US, WE”
Romans 4:16 Therefore it is of faith, that it
might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed;
not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of
Abraham; who is the father of us [1473] all,
THE
FATHER OF THE BELIEVING
Romans 4:11-12 And he received the sign of circumcision, a
seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being
uncircumcised: that he (Abraham)
might be the father of all them that
believe [present active
participle], though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be
imputed unto them also: 12 And the father of circumcision to them who
are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith
of our [1473] father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.
“US”,
THE ONES BELIEVING
Romans 4:24-25 But for us
[1473] also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe [present active participle] on him (God the Father) that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead (and
gave him glory); 25 Who was delivered for our [1473] offences, and was raised again for our [1473] justification.
WALK
WORTH OF THIS CALLING
2 Thessalonians
1:10-11 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired
[wonder, marvel, astonished] in all
them that believe [aorist (but did not believe present tense)]
(because our testimony among you was believed) in that day (the millennial kingdom day). 11
Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling,
and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:
