Text: Romans 2:6-11 Who will render to every man according to his
deeds: 7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory
and honour and immortality, eternal life: 8 But unto them that are contentious,
and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the
Jew first, and also of the Gentile; 10 But glory, honour, and peace, to
every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: 11 For
there is no respect of persons with God.
Romans 2:6-11
Who will render [reward,
pay] to every man according to his deeds
[works]: 7 To them who by patient
continuance in well doing [work] seek [present active] for glory and honour and immortality [incorruption],
eternal life (reward): 8 But unto them that are contentious [out from, strife],
and do not obey [present active] the truth, but obey [present active] unrighteousness
[unjust], indignation [fierceness,
hard breathing], and wrath [vengeance, (punishment)],
9 Tribulation [affliction,
anguish] and anguish [narrowness
of room, distressed], upon every soul
of (saved) man that doeth [present middle] evil, of
the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; 10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh [present middle, perform,
toil, labor for] good, to the Jew first, and also to the
Gentile: 11 For there is no
respect of persons with God.
James 3:14-16
But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
15 This wisdom descendeth not
from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16 For where
envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil
work.
Matthew 25:30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant
into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Colossians 3:23-25 And whatsoever ye do [present active], do
[present middle] it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
24 Knowing that of the Lord ye
shall receive the reward of the
inheritance: for ye serve [present
active] the Lord Christ. 25 But he that doeth [present active] wrong
shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.
Romans 15:4
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our
learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have
hope.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with
every secret thing, whether it be good,
or whether it be evil.
Deuteronomy 10:12-13, 16-17 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with
all thy heart and with all thy soul,
13 To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day
for thy good? . . . 16 Circumcise
therefore the foreskin of your heart,
and be no more stiffnecked. 17 For
the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth
not persons, nor taketh reward:
Romans 2:8
But unto them that are contentious
[strife], and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation
and wrath,
Matthew 16:24-27 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man
will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his
cross, and follow me. 25 For
whosoever will save his life [psuche:G5590, soul, (of
himself)] shall lose [perish]
it (his life): and whosoever
will lose [perish] his life [psuche:G5590,
soul, (of himself)] for my sake shall find it (his life). 26 For what is a man profited, if he
shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul [life, (vs. 25)]? or what shall a man give in exchange
for his soul? 27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father
with his angels; and then he shall
reward every man according to his works.
1 Corinthians 3:13-15 Every man's work shall be made manifest:
for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work
shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet
so as by fire.
2 Corinthians 5:9-11 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done
in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. 11 Knowing therefore the terror [fear] of the Lord, we persuade men; . . .
Revelation 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward
is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
Isaiah 40:10
Behold, the Lord GOD will come
with strong hand, and his arm
shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and
his work before him.
Hebrews 10:35-39 Cast
not away therefore your confidence,
which hath great recompense of reward.
36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God,
ye might receive the promise (agelasting
life, 1 John 2:25). 37 For yet a little while, and he that shall
come will come, and will not tarry. 38 Now the just shall live by faith:
but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. 39 But we
are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the
saving of the soul [psuche:G5590, soul, (of himself)].
1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye
stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding
in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
