Text: Romans 2:6-7 "Who will render to every man according
to his deeds [ergon,
works]: 7. To them who by patient continuance in well
doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:"
The KJV translators instead of going back to the original Greek
and translating the Greek adjective aijw>niov, went to the Latin Vulgate and translated
the Latin aeternus. This is why the word eternal has been misunderstood
by the English reader. If they would have gone to the Greek they for sure would
have translated it as many translators such as Rotherham and Young,
namely, age-abiding, age-during (S.
S. Craig, 1916) .
Romans 2:7

that soweth [present active,

let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap (life everlasting), if we
faint not."

Acts 13:46 "Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and
