JUDGMENT SEAT

Ephesians 5:5-6  "For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh [present middle, coming] the wrath of God upon the children [sons] of disobedience."

“THE WRATH OF GOD IS REVEALED”

SAVED FROM WRATH THROUGH CHRIST

Romans 5:8-9  “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (common salvation).  9  Much more (beyond common salvation) then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath (the judgment of God) through him (Christ our high priest).”

DELIVERING US FROM WRATH

1 Thessalonians 1:10  “And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead (to be our high priest), even Jesus, which delivered [present middle participle, delivering] us from the wrath to [the] come [present middle part., that is coming].”

THESE MEN -  WILLING TO CHANGE?

Romans 2:5-8 "But after thy hardness and impenitent (not willing to change) heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; (according to Paul’s gospel) 6. Who will render [pay, reward] to every (saved) man according to his deeds [works]: 7. To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality [incorruption], eternal life: 8. But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness [adikia, unjust], indignation [fierceness] and wrath,"

SURE JUDGMENT, DON’T BE DECEIVED

2 Thessalonians 2:10-12  “10  And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness [adikai, unjust] in them that perish [present middle, perishing]; because they received not the love (requires obedience to) of the truth, that they might be saved.  11  And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a [the] lie:  12  That they all might be damned [judged] who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness [adikia, unjust]”

 “THE TRUTH”

THE TRUTH, THE HOPE OF GLORY

Colossians 1:5  "For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;"

THE TRUTH, THE WORD OF GOD

2 Corinthians 4:2  "But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God."

CHRIST BORE WITNESS

John 18:37  "Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth (the kingdom message). Every one that is of the truth heareth [present active] my voice."

GOOD THINGS TO COME

John 16:13  "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of [the] truth, is come, he will guide you into all [the] truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come."

 “HOLD DOWN THE TRUTH”

FALSE TEACHERS

2 Peter 2:1-2  “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.  2  And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of [the] truth shall be evil spoken of.”

CHANGE THE TRUTH

Romans 1:25  "Who changed the truth of God into a [the] lie,”

 “MEN”

WHO TAKE AWAY THE KEY

Luke 11:52  "Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered."

THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD REVEALED

Romans 1:19  "Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath showed it unto them."

THEY KNEW GOD

Romans 1:21 "Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God (a judge), neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened."

WISE IN THEIR OWN EYES

Romans 1:22  "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,"

CHANGED THE TRUTH TO THE LIE

Romans 1:25  “Who changed the truth of God into a [the] lie, . . .”

YOU WILL NOT PERISH

Genesis 3:4  "And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die [qanatov, lxx]:" (loose dominion over the earth)

THOU SHALT SURELY DIE

Genesis 2:17  "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die [qanatov, lxx]."

GIVEN REPROBATE MINDS

Romans 1:28  "And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge [epigivwsiv, exact knowledge], God gave them over to a reprobate [disapproved] mind, to do those things which are not convenient [fitting];" (make wrong decisions)

THEY KNOW THE JUDGMENT

Romans 1:32  "Who knowing [epiginwskw, aorist active participle, adjective (ones knowing)] the judgment (wrath) of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death [qanatov, (soul death)], not only do [present active indicative] the same, but have pleasure [present active] in them that do [present active, practice] them."

THEY PROMISE LIBERTY

2 Peter 2:19-21  "While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. 20. For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge [epigniwsiv, exact knowledge] of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 21. For it had been better for them not to have known [epigniwskw, exact knowledge] the way of righteousness (the truth), than, after they have known [epigniwskw, exact knowledge] it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them."

BRETHREN, TAKE HEED

Hebrews 3:11-12  So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)  12  Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil (impenitent) heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
