Text:  Philippians 1:1-5  Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:  2  Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.  3  I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,  4  Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,  5  For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;

GRACE AND PEACE

Philippians 1:2  Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

GRACE AND PEACE MULTIPLIED

2 Peter 1:2  Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge [epignwsiv, exact knowledge] of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

WISDOM AND REVELATION IN KNOWLEDGE

Ephesians 1:17  That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge [epignwsiv, exact knowledge] of him (Lord Jesus Christ):

KNOWING THE FATHER IS TO ENTER

John 17:3  And this is life eternal [agelasting], that they might know [present active subjunctive] thee the only true God (Father, v.1), and Jesus Christ,

GOD OUR FATHER

Philippians 1:2  Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

LITERAL FATHER

Mark 9:24  And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

FIGURATIVE FATHER

John 8:44  Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning (Adam and Eve), and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a [the] lie (Gen 3:4-5), he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father (figurative) of it (the lie).

FIGURATIVE FATHER

Isaiah 22:20-22  And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim (a king) the son of Hilkiah:  21  And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father (figurative) to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.  22  And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.

JOSEPH, A FATHER TO PHARAOH

Genesis 45:8  So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father (figurative) to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.

FATHER ABRAHAM

Romans 4:11  And he (Abraham) received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith (Gen 17, hope of the promise, Heb 6:15)) which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father (figurative) of all them that believe [present active], (If you stop believing in the present tense, Abraham is no longer your father)

RAIN NOR DEW HAS A FATHER

Job 38:28  Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew?

LOCUST HAVE NO GUIDE

Proverbs 30:27  The locusts have no king (as a father), yet go they forth all of them by bands;

A FATHER GUIDES

Jeremiah 31:9  with supplications will I (the Lord) lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.

YE HAVE NOT MANY FATHERS

1 Corinthians 4:15  For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

THE FATHER IS A MYSTERY

Colossians 2:2  That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement [epignwsiv, exact knowledge] of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

THE FATHER SELECTIVELY REVEALED

Luke 10:22  All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.

TO KNOW THE FATHER

John 17:1-3  These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:  2  As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.  3  And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God (Father, v.1), and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

LITTLE CHILDREN KNOW THE FATHER

1 John 2:13  I write unto you, little children [paidion], because ye have known the Father.

LITTLE CHILDREN GIVEN BY GOD

Hebrews 2:13  the children [paidion] which God (Father) hath given me.

HATH LEARNED OF THE FATHER

John 6:45  It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

SHALL COME TO ME

John 6:37  All that the Father giveth [present active] me shall come [future active] to me; and him that cometh [present middle] to me I will in no wise cast out.

THE WILL OF MY FATHER

Matthew 7:21  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

LITTLE CHILDREN ENTER THE KINGDOM

Matthew 18:3  And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children [paidion], ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

GLORIFY GOD THE FATHER

Romans 15:6  That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

BLESSED BE GOD THE FATHER

2 Corinthians 1:3  Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;

THE FATHER HAS BLESSED US

Ephesians 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

THE FATHER BEGOT US AGAIN

1 Peter 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

I WILL BE A FATHER UNTO YOU

2 Corinthians 6:17-18  Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,  18  And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

WALKING IN TRUTH

2 John 1:4  I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.

ABIDING IN THE DOCTRINE OF CHRIST

2 John 1:9  Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath [esteemeth, regardeth] not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath [regardeth, esteemeth] both the Father and the Son.

FATHER

Mark 14:36  And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.
